Some days are harder than others. Some days I do a silent cheer when the clock strikes seven and my kids are tucked into bed. I made it through the day – Phew! But over the years my perspective shifted from not just getting through my day but truly enjoying it and taking steps towards all God has planned for me. Relishing in all today has to offer! I learned how to thrive, not just survive.
Ever since I quit my job to become a stay at home mom, I’ve had an overwhelming joy caring for our home. It’s my full-time job now and I take that position seriously and treat it with the same work ethic.
“Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for man.” Colossians 3:23
Having that focus has really helped me to thrive in many areas of my life. I love moving towards the goals and desires God has put on my heart but if I’m not careful, the days slip away and although I’ve met the needs of those around me, I haven’t come close to meeting my own.
Definition of thrive:
I feel much more well rounded and balanced when I live life with this in mind. When I simply survive my day, I miss out on so many opportunities and am left feeling cheated. I spend time in prayer, maintain a joyful heart while living in the moment and am also cognisant of my time management, while ensuring I take time for myself. Creating a lifestyle with these habits and mindset is truly rewarding!
