Both my greatest and weakest attributes are wrapped into one. Being the first-born daughter of a perfectionist, I have a root within that strives for perfection. Unfortunately, time doesn’t always allow for perfectionism and it can be tiresome always having an inner battle to win. I am reminded that I am perfectly loved; therefore, I don’t need to exhaust myself trying because He has already made my way perfect.
“There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear” (1John 4:18)
Knowing that ‘God has armed me with strength and makes my way perfect’ (Psalm 18:32) creates a beautiful inner peace. It means I don’t have to rely on my strength to reach my desires. I find when I am struggling to get things done, it is on my own strength. When I am aligned with God and leaning on Him, it is so much easier!
As a mother, a wife, daughter, sister, friend etc., at times I feel guilty for not only making time for my needs; but also, the needs of others. As such, I used to put a lot of pressure on myself to reach my high standards. I have since learned I don’t need to carry that weight.
I am reminded of His perfect love in both the big and small areas of my life. When faced with life changing goals or in day-to-day tasks, I need to remember I am not in this alone and His way is always best! He carries me through to see even the smallest details come to pass.
“By the grace of God, I am what I am.” (Corinthians 15:10)
Perfectly made. Perfectly imperfect. And perfectly loved.
“She didn’t have to be perfect because she was…perfectly loved.”
