What do you invest your money in? How about your time? Where do you expend your energy?
Life can be busy, expensive and time consuming. Like most people, I aim to get the most out of my money, time and even my energy. Of course, there is always room for improvement. I’ve realized how these three often affect one another. Budgeting takes time, conserving energy can end up being costly and I don’t always have the energy by the time I need it. How are you spending yours?
Over the past year God has opened my eyes and shown me how I choose to invest these resources. The daily choices I am making in these areas greatly impact my future and where I want to be. I’m learning to stay focused, set boundaries and willing to give up other things in life.
“Look carefully then how you walk, not as unwise but as wise, making the best use of the time, because the days are evil. Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is.” (Eph 5:15-17)
Our family strongly believes in God, personal growth and good food! We schedule extracurricular and social events around church services and commitments, wholeheartedly believe in a Christ-centered education, strive towards achieving our goals and keep fueled by good food. We make sacrifices and take steps to carefully plan in order to fulfill those desires.
I feel we can afford the things we consider important, we make time for things we’re passionate about and we spend our energy on the things we want to achieve and/or love. Sounds simple right? But at what cost? What are you willing to do without? I’d love to hear what you’re spending yours on! What is important to you and your family?
