So often I am asked, “How do you do it?”

How do I manage the care, home, meals, bills, necessities – essentially, everyday life of having 4 children under the age of 4? I’ve responded with a laugh, a casual “Life is busy but so much fun”, “It’s wild but we stay afloat” or “The grace of God.”

While these responses are all true – the honest answer can be found a little deeper.

What anchors you?
The Lord anchors my soul.  He keeps me grounded, gives me strength, guides our path and directs our steps.  He provides for our family and continues to abundantly bless us.

Yes our life is busy.  Yes our life is late nights and early mornings.  Yes our life is all over the map some days.  It’s full of children shouting their needs over one another or fighting over toys.  It is in these moments that the anchor keeps us still and calm (usually) – and He is the reason we rise above the storm and seek joy even in the difficult moments.

I could never accomplish all God has planned for me on my own strength.  He is my rock. And that’s ‘how we do it’. My faith is my anchor.

This hope is a strong and trustworthy anchor for our souls.  It leads us through the curtain into God’s inner sanctuary. (Hebrews 6:19 NLT)

  1. I’m thankful I had my morning coffee before I read your blog. Beautiful and certainly a reflection of what you bring to your family every day.
